Very happy to have an Arabic counting book. The numbers are written in numerals, in Arabic and transliteration (spelled out phonetically). Since the story is written in English, I don't mind the transliterations. This story is amazing. My daughter loves to count in Arabic (teaching her anything is nearly impossible, though) so this book works perfectly for us.It's also fun to introduce her to the stories of Goha fables and this story weaves the essence of Goha while being a fun counting book, too!

As a native Arabic speaker, I am excited to read this to my daughter to introduce her to Arabic! The character of the story is a legend I grew up hearing about, so I love how they incorporated Arab culture. The Arabic is well written and the pronunciation help is extremely helpful for my wife, who is a non native speaker.

Great way to teach children how to count in Arabic. My children just love this book as simple as it is. Perhaps a person who's not familiar with the pronunciation could find it on a video online, because you need to have some linguistic basics to read the transcription of the numbers. For instance, I speak a dialect of Arabic so it was no problem for me, but my spouse, who speaks English and French could not pronounce some of the numbers very well.

There are a handful of English language learners in my daughter's first grade class this year and some of them speak Arabic. She likes learning from her new friends and even happily came home to share with me how to play Rock, Paper, Scissors in Arabic. So I got her this book as a stocking stuffer so she could learn to count in Arabic. She loves it! And I'm happy it gives the correct pronunciation at the beginning and it's a cute, funny story. I'm only taking a star off because it's incredibly repetitive, even for a kid's story.

Cute book based on a traditional Arabic "*Juha" story. I first heard this story orally in Morocco, and this book did a good job telling it to an English audience while learning numbers in Arabic.*Juha is a wise-fool who fills many tales throughout the Arab world, especially in North Africa, though sometimes going by other names.

A wonderful addition to our curriculum

Cute book. Has some humor. It is quite repetitive but it helps kids learn to count in Arabic and English!

Love this book! It's in English too so I can read it, not just my husband who speaks Arabic. We read it to my daughter's pre-school class, and they enjoyed it too!

Each of the books in this series is getting worse, but I feel compelled to finish it because I'm hoping there is an answer that makes sense as to why there's really no story here. This book is just a series of time travel stops along Luce's past lives. I was never really sure why she undertook this journey. I think she was trying to find a reason as to why she loved Daniel, but since most of her 'love' seems to be his broad chest and violet eyes, I couldn't make much sense of it, especially when it still didn't give reasons at the end. I felt I could have skipped this whole book and still would have a good handle on the series.Luce is more annoying than ever. I thought there might be some growth, but nope. She's still reckless and thoughtless. Daniel hops in and out, but even he didn't make much sense anymore. Why did he cleave to an older version of himself only to split again later? Why is Luce listening to a gargoyle who doesn't seem to tell her much more than Daniel does about her past?The historical bits were more interesting, but also fairly ridiculous as far as teaching her anything about herself. There's a whole bit that's lifted directly from 'Shakespeare in Love'.I'm glad it's over and I can read the next book and finally be done with this series.

***** Beware, some spoilers ahead********So...… what can I say about the third installment in the Fallen series. One phrase comes to mind...… TRUE LOVE!!!!!! Daniel Grigori and Lucinda Price's love spans generations and puts all other love stories in their places. I really am truly loving these novels and this story. It has romance, mystery, good & evil trials, friendship, battles, rivals, time travel, reincarnation, angels, and a love story, did I forget to mention that???? Nope, didn't think so!!! I am really happy that I came upon this series. To be honest, I am not understanding why some people detest the Fallen series so much. I mean, I understand that Luce's character can sometimes seem as though she is not a strong enough protagonist but other than that I think she would be a general typical young woman. Daniel on the other hand is the most handsome, thoughtful, romantic, swoon-worthy man I have ever read about. He is the ultimate boyfriend. Now that I have had a moment to tell you how I feel let me give some back story. This particular novel is the third in the fallen series. There are four books total. (In case you didn't know that). In this novel, we pick up where the second one left off with Luce hoping into the Announcer on Thanksgiving from her backyard in Georgia. The rest of the gang including the Angels, Demons, Nephilim and the Outcasts end up heading after her to try to catch her. We follow Luce as she travels through time and visits her past lives trying to find answers to her questions about her relationship with Daniel and how the curse fell upon them. One thing in particular that comes to light in this novel is that her part with the Fallen Angels is bigger than she actually thinks. So much so that the Devil himself gets involved. You will have all the feels while reading this book. I am so excited to continue and I would highly recommend this series. I wish there was more beyond only four novels but so goes my luck.

This series has really grown on me. From a lackluster first book, to a pretty good second book, this third book delivers everything I wanted: adventure, excitement, Luce's previous lives, and background knowledge. Passion is Lauren Kate's third book in the Fallen series, to be followed by the final book, Rapture.When we last left Luce and Daniel, they had fought a battle with the evil Outcasts in her parents' backyard. Luce has found herself conflicted by her love and lives with Daniel. Needing proof of why they live the nightmare of her flaming death over and over again, she steps into an Announcer (smoky little portals that can be used to see or go to a person's former lives) to find out what all these former lives are about. She starts off in Russia during WWII where she sees how painful her death is for Daniel each and every time he loses her. She goes to Italy during WWI, England, Egypt, China, and many more. Each time, Luce learns a little more about herself and her love for Daniel.Along the way, she picks up an odd little helper in the Announcer named Bill. He is a small little gargoyle thing that proves to be helpful in finding both her way and the meaning she has been searching for. He helps her blend in with the time period, guides her into meeting her former selves, and even helps her "cleave" with her former body, becoming that person through the last moments of their life. All of this helps Luce realize everything Daniel has done is because of his undying love for her. What she doesn't know, is he is following her through the Announcers, trying to find her. At her first life, Bill convinces her it would be best to release her soul from the curse, thereby releasing her love of infinite lives from the curse that destroys him with every reincarnation. What she doesn't realize at first is Bill might have his own agenda that might not be as genuine as Luce thinks. Can Daniel find her in time? Can they break the curse after all?Oh this was such an interesting book! Every pair of chapters was a new place. The first chapter would be Luce arriving in the former life, and then the second would be Daniel's arrival. Seeing the lives from two different perspectives really explained the whole story in a way the reader can appreciate. Then their two journeys differ a bit, and you see how their two lives are entwined, but also how much they need each other. The love between Luce and Daniel is epic, and nothing, including a bratty 12-year old French king, a huge class discrepancy, or a Mayan sacrifice, can keep them apart. At different points in the last two books, I became annoyed with either Luce, for being too petulant or Daniel, for being too vague, but this book made me love both of them at the same time. This was the perfect lay-up for the final book, and I simply cannot wait to read it!

Good purchase

I found this book interesting and quite well designed with information that I have wondered about for some time. It is a welcome addition to my collection. It is in good condition and I it was packaged so that it would not get damaged when I got it, unlike some items that I have gotten from time to time.

This books recounts Tremere history yet again. However, unlike the original CLANBOOK TREMERE- a classic source book, revealing the secrets of a mysterious clan- here a young Tremere narrates. Since most player characters tend to be young Tremere getting a sense of just how much such a character would know is very helpful. There are sidebars from a more ancient Tremere, hinting at how the narrator has been influenced by propaganda. (This assumes some background knowledge. You can find that in both the original CLANBOOK: TREMERE and TRANSYLVANIA BY NIGHT. The Tremere legend develops further in NIGHTS OF PROPHECY and TRANSYLVANIA CHRONICLES IV: DRAGON ASCENDANT.)While Clan Tremere is still highly organized and authoritarian, the description of Tremere society here allows more freedom. It's now possible to play an anarch Tremere with no clan contact and easier to imagine what interests more traditional Tremere would have beyond clan business. Basically, there's less internal politics and more to make Tremere playable in a mixed coterie. However, there's still detailed description of Tremere organizational structure. There's also a bit about the destruction of the Tremere antitribu and (now that they're gone) details on how the curse marking the antitribu worked. (Gee, thanks.)There are many good features- Tremere derangements, merits and flaws, a generous Thaumaturgy section with new rituals (some repeated from the original, some important to Tremere operations) and paths (one revived from DARK AGES), as well as explanations of how Tremere use clan disciplines, an all Tremere coterie, notable Tremere and character templates including spooky occultists and anarchs. MET statistics are often given. The only failings are small organizational problems (we hear about the "Transubstantiation of Seven" long before there's any explanation of what it is) and the need for familiarity with other material to appreciate the full picture.

First, I liked the fact that the history of the Tremere was laid out nicely. However, this book fails to mention the struggle between Tremere and Salout for the control of Tremere's body. It also fails to mention WHY the Tremere Antitribu were destroyed. I may be wrong, but I think that is part of the history of Clan Tremere. Still, I liked to see how well organized Clan Tremere is. It's obvious why their enemies fear them, as the most powerful and cunning Tremere are the ones in charge. Also, I thought that the various rituals presented in this book were interesting, especially the one that helped other vampires to learn Thaumaturgy. However, I bought this assuming that I would get a better understanding of the discipline of Thaumaturgy, which I did to a point, but not as much as I would have liked. For instance, what seperates Tremere blood magic from, say, Assamite or Setite Sorcery? Also, I would have liked a clarification of how exactly you advance your Thaumaturgy rating as opposed to the various paths that you have. Vampire: The Masquerade rulebook attempted to explain it, but I still avoid creating Tremere characters simply because I'm not sure how to advance in their most important discipline. Also, on the outside binding of the book, there is always the "clan symbol" that goes along with the given clan. I was surprised to see, for this book, a rose! If you're familiar with Vampire: The Masquerade at all, you'll realize that the rose is the symbol for Clan Toreador, not Clan Tremere! Obviously, this isn't a big thing, but I still thought I'd bring it up. To me, it just takes away from the overall presentation of the book; since basically I buy some of the books just to say I have them. I like having the various clanbooks all next to each other, but then when you see one that has a flaw like that (especially on the outside!) it takes away from the, again, presentation. Overall though, it explains a lot about Clan Tremere and it's inner workings, which is probably what most people expect from this book. So therefore, if you're looking for that, you will be pleased. If you want a sprawling history of this clan, however, you should look elsewhere.

A bit dry, but an essential read for any 3rd edition Tremere.It has none of the flavor or depth of Blood Magic: Secrets of Thamaturgy. Like most 3rd ed clan books it is boringly utilitarian, outlying what you need to know to play a Tremere character without giving you any real inspiration to do so. It throws in some rituals you-need-to-know-about and a few paths your Storyteller is almost certain to ban you from taking.As for the clan history it presents, it is the sanitized and entirely skip-able version of what has been given to us time and again in other books; in other words, no real mention of Saulot.

I got into Ars Magica later, so Tremere means more to me now, but a fun read of the Mages turned Vampires. A dangerous group to mess with, and a tough one to break free from.
