His academic writings have appeared in the Hegel Bulletin, Journal of the British Society for Phenomenology, the Marx & Philosophy Review of Books and more. He edited and contributed to The Anarchist Turn (2013, Pluto Press), and recently co-translated Communism for Kids (2017, MIT Press). The author was concise in his evaluation of The Unique and It's Property (better known as The Ego and His Own). I had a hard time putting it down and it should be a must read for anyone who is a 'Stirnerite'.

A brilliant and fascinating read. I couldn’t put it down.

If you are new to Max Stirner's thought, this is an incredible introduction. If you already know Stirner well, still buy this book. In either case, it is an indispensable introduction and provides a lot of original thought.I was someone completely new to Stirner and, to be honest, was revolted after glancing at The Unique and Its Property. But Blumenfeld's book opened my mind to Stirner's ideas and changed my life for the better. That's because Stirner is not just a philosopher thinking about the realm of abstractions, but someone who gave good practical advice on how live and think.I won't get into all of Stirner's ideas and the author's interpretations of them, but this book helped free me. I grew up as a religious fundamentalist and, even following my falling out with it, I still struggled to think outside of the modes I acquired from that time.This book, whether Stirner was right or not on all matters, showed me how to take my life back. It gave me a mental toolkit to own my life in a meaningful way. To refuse to be controlled by mere thoughts and other phantoms that haunt the alienated individual.I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for something worthwhile. This is easily the best book I've read in a long time.

I was hoping/expecting to learn some new, earth-shattering advice about how to strengthen one's marriage. Instead, the first half of the book was spent learning about the history of marriage and about the author's definition of an "all-or-nothing" marriage. The last half of the book had some helpful ideas, but most of them (communicate better, don't rely on your partner to meet all of your needs, etc.) were fairly obvious.

“Post-menopausal” was mentioned exactly once, at the end of a sentence. At the time when relationships are most vulnerable, the author’s GPS finds no location, no road, no town to observe or study. I appreciate the many valuable insights and analyses, but when data is averaged it still only represents one point on the spectrum. I kept waiting to read an example of couples over 60 or lovehacks to mitigate the fallout from bankruptcy, financial ruin, a heart attack or stroke. Will there be a Part 2?

Eli Finkel has produced an excellent, science-based book that begins with a discussion of how marriage has changed, and then moves to presenting advice, grounded in research, on how anyone can improve their marriage (or relationship). If you are having artery problems, calcium hardening and plaque build up, have had bypass or stents...then you need to enlighten yourself. Chelation will clean out your entire artery system AND remove all the damaging accumulated heavy metals you positively have in your body. I was having problems, doctors gave me all sorts of terrible med's that will develop negative side effects later in years. Chelation removes the problems and does not mask the build up until you are forced into surgery! It's not cheap and is time consuming...so how much is your extension of life worth. You can buy more years and healthier ones at that. However, heart surgeons are dead against this because it literally takes profit out of their pockets. get chelation, you don't need stents or a bypass. Read the book and learn!

Nothing new about chelation therapy here, not very thourough. This is not the best book if someone is looking to actually DO chelation and wants to learn about it. So far Andy Cutlers book seems to have a lot of information and makes sense.

The Chelation Controversy: How to Safely Detoxify Your Body is sort of OK. Some recommendations may be helpful, and some are not. I have read a half dozen books on detoxification before I finally found the most crucial aspect that none included. I will come to this shortly. But first it is important to beware that many things recommended for detoxing may themselves be harmful. This can include the chelators, DMPS and DMSA, ozone, even numerous supplements if they are not accurately tested beforehand.The above applies whether the toxic exposure was mercury or other heavy metal, mold, pesticide, formaldehyde, drugs or other .The most crucial and missing aspect is that quite often a chronic porphyria has been permanently induced by the toxic exposure. This then is what often makes the person chronically sick and very “allergic” to foods and environmental chemicals. I put allergic in quotes because the adverse reactions to foods and env. chemicals may really be porphyric, not allergic, reactions. After porphyria is induced, people can become even more intolerant of drugs and even vitamins. There is only one book then to get and read for immediate help. This is the book written by Dr. Steven Rochlitz, titled, PORPHYRIA: The Ultimate Cause Of Common, Chronic And Environmental Illnesses. With Breakthrough In Diet, Supplements And Energy Balancing. It isn’t sold on Amazon. See the author’s wellatlast dot com site. There is even an awesome, recent, free interview/lecture on the testimonials page.Save your health as I did after reading Rochlitz’s remarkable book. It was so helpful. If you are looking for an acceptably scientific book/resource on metal chelation - do not bother with this book. This is a generic regurgitation of folklore beliefs about postulated curative effects of chelation. To set it straight - detox/chelation therapies might or might not be beneficial. What this book fails to delivery is the sound foundation of such advice. Hence it can even be potentially damaging as bad advice can be extremely dangerous (e.g. a wrong protocol for ALA-based metal chelation).This book is just a generic b/s which you see in most other sources on candida, adrenal insufficiency, etc, i.e. -feel low on energy? -cannot sleep? Alternatively if Hg is above the norm try the two books published by Andy Cutler. Probably not your first book on chelation therapy. More like second stage information. This stuff is a life saver.

It is a small easy to read book with the most important facts on chelation summarized. Great for quick reference. It furnishes me with enough information in order to make an informed desicion on the best method of chelation.

The book is easy to understand, explanations are given for medical or scientific words. However, I think chelation is a crock. I am studying consumer health and just about everything in this book is opposite what is in my health textbook (Consumer Health: A Guide to Intelligent Decisions).

My 7 year old grandson loves to play baseball. He's in the first grade and had no problem reading this book. He loves these books written by Matt Christopher. The author is able to write to the reading level of young kids which keeps them interested in the book. My grandson did not have any problems retaining what he read and is very excited to read every night before bed. Highly recommend the books written by Matt Christopher.

My six year-old baseball-loving son really liked this book. It has a good message about confidence, and lots of play-by-plays. The book's quite dated -- kids go off to play unsupervised in the town's field, and the boy befriends a strange teenager in his small town -- but it was easy for me to explain these anachronisms to my son, and they give a sweet glimpse of 1950's life. Matt Christopher is no Dickens, but since we have to read sports books in my house, he's good enough for us.

Great first chapter book for my grandsons, just as this collection was for my boys when they were age 8.

Praise God! I'm a talent agent and I'm not supposed to suggest anything to actors. I can't suggest where to get your head shots, where to take a class, or where to get anything but by gosh, I can suggest this book!! I love it! I must confess, I read what I want when I want so I haven't actually read it straight through but I have every other page dog eared so I can remember the good stuff on it. This book sits on my desk. When I interview actors, I ask if they have read this book. If they haven't, I always suggest it to them because it is the most comprehensive guide they can use to be the type of actor an agent and casting director would want to work with. Yes, you can find out info on the street but wouldn't you rather hear it from someone who is actually in the game every day and who is making a living as a casting director? Bonnie Gillespie has a much kinder soul and uses her verbiage far gentler than I ever would and that's why I suggest her book. I would probably break an actors will to go on if I told them what they really needed to do to make it happen but Bonnie has such a lovely way of telling an actor what to do that it downright makes me feel like the bitter agent that I didn't set out to be because actors just don't listen to me:) Every single chapter I found myself saying "yes!", "you tell 'em!", "thank you for explaining this!", and the list goes on. She was like on my team and reading it I felt like her cheerleader:) Yes, get really great head shots, yes, meet casting directors and give agents something to pitch and work with, and yes, be a well rounded person who people like and want to work with. I appreciated her positivity, her point of view, and candor. Please actors, read this book and follow the advice in it so you can have the best shot at being successful actors. Thank you, Bonnie for helping to make my job easier!

She will show you how it can be done, if you're willing to work for it. The book can be a little overwhelming at times, but it is so thorough, that any time you're wondering "What should I do today to move closer to my dream of being an actor?", she will have an answer, no matter where you are in your acting career. She presents a sharing-based world of acting, where we help each other out, and encourages you to do research on your work so you can move through the ranks faster. I am just starting out as a serious actress, but I feel like I have a detailed roadmap of where I'm going after reading this book, and I expect to refer to it frequently in the years to come. This was great preparation before I came to Hollywood. It totally made sense like it would work. Unfortunately, a lot of advice: Actors Access, workshops, student films, they really get you very little if any paid work or representation. I did get a good commercial agent by following some advice in this book, but commercial rep is fairly easy to get if you have the right look. If you are CLUELESS about PROFESSIONAL ACTING, get this book. You DON'T want to go into this business without a clue, you will get ripped off and taken advantage off!!!!If you are someone like me who has been in the biz for at least a few years, you really should check out a book called "Actors Trade Secrets" by Erica Hoo. She's not the soft, fluffy type though; she is also a casting professional AND actress. What I love about Erica is that she knows how many half-truths are told to actors as the answer. You know paid workshops, get new headshots, send tons of post cards, get a reel, and such. I followed a lot of that very COSTLY advice in popular actor books such as Self-Management and it wasn't working. It wasn't until I bought "Actors Trade Secrets" that I understood why. "Self-Management" got me my commercial agent, which I am SOOOO grateful for. But I had no way to attract a Theatrical agent until I read "Actors Trade Secrets." Boy was that a wake up call!

Some of this is common sense, some of it confirms what you may have already thought of or guessed at but you will definitely learn quite a few new strategies so the price of the book will be made back in spades at some point in your career if you decide to stick with acting. This book was well thought out and will be something different for each actor, as it should be, but it applies to all actors in general. If your just starting out this is a must have book. I found it to be a very useful resource book that I know I will turn back to again and again for reference and refreshers.

I think this is a great book. I think it really helps to read a book like this when learning MPI. I've found I'm taking a few approaches that are not emphasized in the book - for example using the 'v' functions like Scatterv, Gatherv, although they are mentioned in the book, I could use examples that make use of them, and other functions that are mentioned. Also some MPI 3.0 functions are not mentioned, and my understanding is the C++ MPI bindings, which the book uses a substantial amount of space to cover, have been deprecated, so yes, I really like it, but I would update it, or get the MPI 3.0 standard doc for $25 as well, or the free pdf that the committee makes, to get a more complete MPI reference.

I bought this book for a course on Parallel Computing for which we did some basic MPI programming. This book was useful to a great extent in describing the syntax of the MPI routines as well as in providing ample examples. To my knowledge, it doesn't contain advanced MPI concepts but it is good in explaining the basics of MPI if you are a beginner.

The book came clean. It came brand new which was surprising to me when I got it.

This book is an excellent introduction to programming with the MPI. It gradually introduces concepts from the simple to the complex. This is done with examples that illustrate the use of different techniques. The examples include the code to implement them. The programming examples alternate between Fortran 90, C, and C++. However, after giving the example in one language, the bindings for the MPI functions in the other two languages are presented. In addition, the programming examples in either language are easily understood. Although my first choice of programming language is Fortran (and I have very basic knowledge or C), I was able to follow the examples in C and C++ and to write their equivalents in Fortran so I could test them on our computers.
