I purchased this blank comic book for my kids (ages 5 and 7). They loved it! The book is perfectly put together and of high quality. This is important because the spine has to take numerous openings and closings as the kids worked on their comic story. My kiddo loves

This is the perfect book to jump start a young comic book lovers’ imagination. My 10-year old grandson is a Marvel-DC fanatic and he loves being able to take his heroes and villains where HE wants them to go. He actually shared this with his writing tutor and they are using it in lesson plans. (sshhhh...he doesn’t know they’re lesson plans!). I had to get my granddaughter one as well. And they can turn in to keepsakes, which is cool for grandma!

One has to apply the information that has been read from this book and use it on the racquetball court. The information is very direct, and their is no mystery to it. One of the authors who contributed information on this book [Woody Clouse] emphasizes that one has to practice hitting alot of balls on the court, lift weights, and run sprints in order to get better as a player-Male or Female. International Racquetball commissioner Hank Marcus along with Irt player Jon Ellis give this book a very positive evaluation. The book has many pictures illustrating situations where one has too be hitting the ball away from the player, etc. The book has several chapters that emphasize all the aspects of game-conditioning, nutrition. The book also has several pictures of players who play on the professional tour. Cliff Swain, Andy Roberts, Mike Ray, Drew Kachtik , and Ruben Gonzales are some of the player photographs one will see in this book. I have to say that my play was really very limited and highly primitive. I only knew how to serve the most basic serve in racquetball and that was the drive, and that was the only shot I knew since the beginning. I was very fortunate that when I was playing the game I purchased this book during the time to help improve my play. It has been a couple of months now, and my play is alot better. I can do a Z-serve, a left and right drive serve, and my lob is coming there. I also learned to hit the ball away from my opponent and not to hit the ball to him or her but away from my opponent. Alot of patience is needed, and alot of practicing if one desires to improve. So if your a racquetball player who is from Moscow, Russia, or Tijuana ,Mexico, or from Houston Texas who wants to be more knowledgeable playing the game, I highly recommend this book too you.

i am a current teaching club pro and after a few lessons, i have suggested to my students that they look at this book for a superb instruction, strategy, and exercises through drills to take their game to another level. this easy to read book is more than worth the price of 13.56 they are selling it for......cheaper than a one hour lesson with me. Well worth the investment.

This is a very good book for an intermediate player who is looking to take the next step. The drills and exercise techniques are very good, but the amount of time the Author suggests is unreasonable. Use the skills, but use them in the time you have available -- you'll still improve.

I regretably have to agree with an earlier reviewer who panned this book as being too basic to be really useful for the more advanced player. I figured that reviewer was looking for "shortcuts" to getting good, without the hard work of practicing the basics -- and I believe in the importance of working hard at mastering the basics. So I purchased the book. But, the problem is that the basics covered in this book are too basic -- like how to pick a racquet and the trajectory of a lob serve. Those are things the beginner needs to see, but the better player knows them in principle, but needs help in learning how to execute them better -- not the "what" of winning racquetball, but the "why" and the "how" so that the skills can be practiced and developed. It's not that there isn't good stuff in this book -- there is. It does a good job of treating the fundamentals, but that's where it stops. If you've already got a solid grasp of the fundamentals and are already playing at a reasonably advanced level, I would recommend the "Advanced Racquetball" DVD by Jim Winterton which demonstrates the mechanics and strategies that will allow better players to take their game up another notch. A word of warning -- Winterton's DVD is very good, but it is so loaded with specific coaching information that it can be hard to digest it all. Sometimes you just want to yell "explain that a little better before you move on!" But at least, when you've been exposed to Winteron's coaching comments you know what you're not doing right and need to work on, and because it is video rather than static pictures, you can play and replay the stroke mechanics being illustrated.

It's simply the best book ever written on racquetball!

Book arrived on time and in excellent condition. The reprint is from scanned images and several pages are unreadable. Other than that an excellent book on the early days of conveyor belt design and application.

I would like to see stop action sequenced photos of the basic forehand and backhand strokes. There is no picture of a decent backhand stroke in the chapter entitled "Hitting Forehand and Backhand Shots" and only two instructional photos.All instructional photos in the book are of Woody Clouse a LEFT-HANDED player. Why would you use photos that are appropriate for only 10% of the population?The text presentation is quite good but the photos leave a lot to be desired.

This book is much smaller than I expected to be, but there is still a lot of content within it. It is laid out in an organized fashion and it has very useful information. This is great for all social workers to have because psychotropic medications are an important factor for us to monitor with our clients. Since we rarely receive direct education around this topic, it is our responsibility to make ourselves learned of this integral component of our clients lives. This book is not intended to teach social workers to diagnose or prescribe our clients, but to better understand the factors which impact their lives in many ways.

Great book. Updated information that's very useful and helpful, particularly for recent grads who are working in a setting that requires them to be familiar with the various psychotropic medication. The prices is astronomically high, which to me is just unfair and pure greed.

I first read the Tao Te Ching in college. Somewhere along the line I lost that copy so I decided to pick up this one (especially since it had such high reviews). This copy seemed much different than the one I read years back. And I am not just talking about the author's choice to use female pronouns as well as male pronouns in his version (incidentally - how close can one get to awareness of Tao if one allows oneself to get hung up on seeing "He" rather than "She" in the teachings?).In one portion of this "tao de ching: A New English Version" ("Version" is the key word) the author chooses to translate "When the Tao is absent in a country,/ war horses are bred on the borders" to "When a country goes counter to the Tao, Warheads are stockpiled outside the cities". This author has written his "modernized" version of the Tao Te Ching and he claims to have been open in this fact, supposedly by him using the terms "A New English Version". When one reads further one in the notes you see the author admitting he does not even know Chinese (so his interpretation of the Tao is from other translations - and how he thinks the lines should read for poetics sake, or P.C. sake, etc).At first I thought I would not write a review on this book. This book is very confusing to read because of the way its been printed. There's no uniformity; Instead of having one verse per page and then a commentary section, there's several verses on one page with different types and sizes of font throughout so visually it looks very cluttered and crammed together and it's not enjoyable to read. It looks like a cheap, self-publishing project gone wrong. It's such an important text, it's disappointing that they didn't take more care to make it more readable.

Nominally, this book presents "archetype patterns", using UML and an extended case study. The archetype idea, intermediate between a general design pattern and a specific application, is a valuable one. In the case study, it's a set of business meta-objects, operations, and organizing principles. In presenting the archetype abstraction, those objects are spelled out in enough detail to create a useable framework for routine business needs. The archetype mechanism is also spelled out in great detail, almost wholly within the UML framework. By itself, this won't be enough to convince any UML doubters about UML's flexibility. Taken as one among many UML applications, however, it's very compelling. It's also the first reference I know that gets down to cases in applying MDA - an interesting view. I fault the technique for only two things. First is a slight dependence on a specific CASEproduct, ArcStyler. That reliance never turned all the way into an advertisement, so I'll let it pass. Second is a baffling section on "rules." The rules and rule mechanisms make sense, but inexplicably seem to re-create the features of the OCL. Two extras make this presentation very attractive. First is the mention of "literate programming," tying the UML tool suite to user documentation and design documentation. They specifically note XML and DocBook, existing standards, as the vehicle for integrating prose and technical parts of the model. Bravo! Even if their LP tools are weak, use of the idea is a real strength. The second extra is a pervasive awareness of standards. Money is phrased in terms of ISO 4217, nations in terms of ISO 3166, books in terms of ISBNs (ISO 2108), and on and on. Far too few programmers realize how many of their software requirements are already spelled out in external standardslike these, so the consciousness-raising exercise is a good one. This is an excellent resource, not just for its business objects and not just for its UML case study. The author treat even personal names (table 4.4) with more care than I've seen anywhere else - that care pervades the whole book, and is a lesson in itself.//wiredweird

This book is a great resource for common data patterns. We plan to use these patterns in all future programming.

This book is unfortunately mistitled. It should have just been called 'Enterprise Patterns'. Perhaps the extra bumf in the title is attractive to some readers, but when I see big subtitles with 'MDA' and 'UML' in them, I immediately think of that most unfashionable of things in these Agile times: Process. Ugh! Dirty word! You may therefore be thinking this is a really tedious book full of bullet points and flow charts. But in fact it's a totally brilliant book, with a few flow charts and bullet points in, admittedly.There's hardly any MDA in this book at all. There's a chapter on using a specific software tool to convert the patterns in this book into code, but I've already forgotten what it was called.The meat of this book is a catalog of UML patterns associated with the enterprise domain. If you've read Martin Fowler's Analysis Patterns, you'll know what to expect: Customer, Party, Rule, Money, Quantity, Order etc. The authors mention Analysis Patterns, but call their patterns 'archetype' patterns. The difference between the two is that the archetype patterns are much more detailed.So do you need to read this if you've read Analysis Patterns? I say yes. This is in fact better than AP, simply because when they say their patterns are detailed, they aren't joking. Fortunately, the authors advocate a 'literate modeling' approach, that explains the interactions in plain English, and the authors' writing is clear and unstodgy, effectively highlighting the important parts of each pattern, and where variation can be introduced. They claim their archetype patterns are sufficiently flexible to cover a wide range of enterprise, and I have to say they do a very good job of convincing you they've thought of most of the special cases, and how to unify them in one pattern.Even if you aren't actually an enterprise programmer (and I'm not), I still highly recommend this book, just for the large number of examples of how to successfully model a complex domain. Plus, no tedious accounting or financial examples - bonus.

When choosing a math workbook, I’m usually looking for one simple thing: each topic is represented by a large amount of exercises.The “large” is extremely important as in math, like in many other fields of study, “repetition is the path to mastery”.Having tried numerous books, I can definitely say that this one (actually these two Part I and Part II) deserves a place on my table.The book is well organized and covers all material required for the 3rd grade Common Core.The multiple choice questions (Part I) contain fairly large amount of word problems, which is big part of CC,and the free response part (Part II) does have some challenging questions.What I like the most is its reasonably-sized daily exercises, which, if done daily, definitely improve results.

Disappointed with this math workbook. Had plenty of great reviews, however we have been working in the book and many problems are not numbered correctly making it confusing and difficult to use and grade. Much better resources that have no errors out there for similar price. Wish I could return but didn't notice until we started writing in it. It is obvious that no time was put into the final product and the editing process. Many of these errors were caught by an 8 year old.

About one month ago I ordered four math books published by Argo Brothers Publishing – Math 3rd Grade Common Core Workbook (Part 1 and Part 2), and Math 5th Grade Common Core Workbook (Part 1 and Part 2). Being a Math Tutor I always check different additional sources to help my students to be successful on the tests, especially based on Common Core. Usually I search Internet looking for Test Preparation information, and then compiling worksheets for different topics. It is hard work, because there is a lot of outdated information with different point of view on the same subject. I found almost everything I need in those books! Part 1 has a hundreds multiple choice questions which cover different topics, and Part 2 requires writing answers, which is much harder, and makes a student to analyze, and formulate his answer in proper way. Guessing doesn’t work! All the books are well structured based by days and weeks, which can help with the planning of studying. I started to utilize those books in my tutoring process, and I’m very happy with the result – it saves my time and effort, and I have big source of worksheets wit the answer keys in one place! I would recommend those books to parents of my students as a perfect guide to be successful on Common Core exams. I’d like to order the book Math 7th Grade Common Core Workbook (Part 1 and Part 2) in near future.

The only reason I didn't give this workbook an additional star is that the videos that are offered with the book are lacking, I like the book itself and the format. If your child wants help with one of the questions and wants help from someone other than the parent or teacher, the video may or may not teach the math concept behind the problem. Some of the questions on the video are just someone reading the problem and the answer with no explanation. Overall I like the book though and would recommend it.

One of my favorite publishers for math workbooks for students. I have many of their books and have been consistently pleased with the quality and number of resources they provide. The workbooks include more than enough practice problems for your child to work through during the school year and the book comes along with their online website access. To my knowledge, all of their workbooks come with video explanations on their website. Some instructor reviews question by question making this an essential workbook to have for all parents and teachers. As a parent who has used their books for my kids and continue to do so, I highly recommend this brand.

The book is ok for getting use to this style of learning and test taking. However, there have been a couple of times where the answers given (in the back of the book for each lesson) were wrong. Hopefully, parents know Math concepts themselves. Lol

I ordered the book to be able to work with my child to assure competency for Common Core Math. The book has a page worth of practice problems with assignments per each weekday. There are also tips for kids on all the pages and answers in the back. I like this book as the organization makes it easy to use and the practice problems provide really good practice in understanding common core. This book allows me to save money on tutoring. Great resource if your child needs extra practice to figure out the concepts.

Got this recently for my third grader to supplement with extra math practice at home and he has actually said that he really likes it! In math, as with many things, practice is really important to solidify understanding of various concepts. Very happy with the 3rd grade books.
